That whole set of days was ominous. One more omen was a little thing by that point.

How is everyone else doing, today?

Uh... not so good. We lost a lot of other people to the Book. Half of Citrine.

Half of-- what on earth is going on?!

[floorcandy]

Maleficent got her 'voice' back and gave us a lot of information, and there've been storytellers around in the unlocks... the Darkness got riled up.

[quercusoptima]

Her "voice" ... ? She was able to speak just fine when I was there.

[floorcandy]

She can say things she wasn't allowed to before.

[quercusoptima]

In what way ... ? About the world in general, do you mean?

[floorcandy]

Yeah. And about what happened that made the Personae go into stories.

And for that, all of those people were taken--?

Apparently so... there's been weird monsters too. A kid on Citrine was attacked by his own shadow.

[frowning] Like that time everyone went mad because of the darkness--?

[floorcandy]

It's more like when we moved from Beauty's realm... Three's going to do something soon to make the Darkness easier for us to hit it directly, too.

Mm, I missed that, but ... "easier to hit directly," how?

[floorcandy]

Y'know that giant squid and giant crab? Three set those up so we could fight it face-to-face.

If she could do that, then how did that one time with the mosquitoes get so out of hand ...

Something to do with balance.

I would say the whole thing was rather unbalanced from the get-go.

[floorcandy]

It's supposed to be less a seesaw balance and more of a woven balance, but... I don't get it.

Perhaps it will make more sense as it settles?
